Reference documentation for the standard resource tagging and naming conventions used across ScaleCloud-managed cloud environments, forming the basis for cost allocation, ownership tracking, and automated policy enforcement.

Required tags

Every resource requires environment, owner-team, cost-center, and data-classification tags at minimum, enforced at the infrastructure-as-code level rather than through a manually-applied tagging policy.

Naming convention

Resource names follow a consistent {environment}-{workload}-{resource-type}-{sequence} pattern, chosen so a resource’s purpose and environment are identifiable from its name alone in cost reports and monitoring dashboards.
